The strategy portion of the game requires you to manage resources, build buildings, and control armies to beat your enemies. Also, there is a multiplayer, where you can measure your strength with other players. The modern adaptation I’ll be using is the videogame Age of Mythology, a strategy game (that stole a fair chunk of my childhood) in which you try to destroy your opponents as one of four civilizations inspired by a combination of history and mythology: Norse, Egyptians, Greeks (worshipping the Olympian gods), and Atlanteans (worshipping the Titans). The game has a storyline, where the player will have to go through the company for each of the nations in turn. Weapons designed to destroy fortresses and buildings inflict good damage to titans.Ĭonfrontations take place both on land and on water and even in the air. Of course, you can defeat a titan with the help of ordinary warriors, but this will require a huge number of them. In order to resist the enemy titan, you need your own titan, and for this, civilization must enter a special era. The most powerful of the titans, Kronos, has an even more enviable life scale. The crown mythical monster here is the titan - a huge unit, the number of hit points of which is equal to 7-10 thousand units (for ordinary warriors, for example, it is equal to values from 50 to 100 units). Each of the factions has its own specific units, both basic, which differ between peoples only formally, and unique - mythical creatures. In total, there are several races in the game: Germanic, Ancient Greek, Egyptian and the endangered Atlantean race. Moreover, the game has a powerful editor that allows you to generate various maps, events and much more.

In visual terms, the game is not much different from the games of the Age of Empires series, with the only difference that this time the graphics (in comparison with previous games) are prettier due to three-dimensional graphics and good special effects.

The revised edition was published in 2014, with the submission of SkyBox Labs employees. This time, the choice of developers from Ensemble Studios fell on the mythological motives of various peoples inhabiting Ancient Europe: Greece, Scandinavia, Egypt and others. Age of Mythology: Extended Edition is an excellent real-time strategy game from the creators of the Age of Empires line of games.
